I saw one of the Washington Square Park Red-tailed Hawks for only a few seconds today as it left a perch north of the park. It circled then flew northward. I checked for it but couldn’t find it so I took in some of the other park sights.
One of the rat snap traps was busted open:
I didn’t see a contractor working on/emptying the traps so I don’t know what the deal was with that. It was probably some random vandalism that happens around the park.
There were still some Juncos in the park:
Although I didn’t see the Hawks in the park I did see other birds on the Hawks’ regular perches.
A bird spent some time on one of Bobby’s favorite flag poles:
It was a Peregrine Falcon.
I saw one of the prettiest and most squeaky clean Robins ever:
A Blue Jay ate one of the peanuts someone had thrown on a lawn:
The Peregrine circled above where Bobby and Sadie often circle just east of the park:
And there was a Mourning Dove where Bobby often gathers nesting material:
